SAINT JOHN ENERGY OVERVIEW
Saint John Energy, officially known as The Power Commission of the City of Saint John, was established in 1922 to distribute electricity to the citizens of Saint John, New Brunswick. Today, we serve over 36,000 customers as a local distribution company (LDC) and are recognized nationally for our leadership in innovation and our commitment to the transition to Net Zero.
We are passionate about delivering value to our stakeholders. As Saint John’s premier provider of energy and related services, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. For over a century, we’ve powered the homes, businesses, and industries of our community with a focus on reliability, affordability, and excellent service.
Our sustainability commitment is guided by ISO 26000 and supported by our designation as a Sustainable Electricity Company™ by the Canadian Electricity Association. Our progress is demonstrated through projects like the Burchill Wind Project, Saint John’s first utility-scale wind farm. Commissioned in 2023, it generates up to 15% of the city’s electricity and offsets more than 43,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually. Building on this success, we are now developing the Menahqwesk Kisuhs Energy Hub in partnership with Universal Kraft Canada and Neqotkuk (Tobique First Nation) - a 10 MW solar farm that will power 1,200 homes and further reduce carbon emissions by over 10,000 tonnes annually.
These initiatives are part of our Zero30 strategy to achieve Net Zero emissions and deliver cleaner, more sustainable energy to our community.

Saint John Energy (SJE) is requesting information from industry experts that can offer IT Managed Services to 100 users (approximately 65 office and 35 field workers). If requested by SJE, companies replying to this RFP should be able to give a demonstration and be available for consultation on the responses provided. Saint John Energy is considering the term of this contract would be for an initial one-year term, renewable for two additional one-year terms on mutual agreement. |
